We’re in that final blitz now to push through the last couple of weeks of the semester to we can go back home! But most of us ran out of steam back before Thanksgiving. How, then, are we supposed to survive these three weeks until we go back home?! How praytell?! Well first, stop panicking! This is going to be my fifth “end of the semester.” I’ve pretty much got it down to a science.
SHOWER.
This may seem like a given, but seriously, it’s amazing what a shower can do. After long hours of working and studying and all that, sometimes you just feel gross and want to sit and do nothing. Nothing makes me feel better than a nice warm shower. I feel so revitalized and ready to work! So go ahead! Take a shower at 2:30 in the afternoon! Besides, I can smell you from here.
TAKE A BREAK FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
I know, I know, you have 18 papers to write 34 chapters to read and a novel to interpret the pajamas out of, but dear goodness take a break! It’s okay to stop working every once in a while. Do a load of laundry and sit on the couch watching TV while it’s going. You’ll feel like you’re doing something productive, but you get to relax. Plus those clothes may need a wash. May I remind you, I can smell you from here.
EAT! EAT! YOU MUCH TOO SKINNY!
Make sure that while you’re staying up 24/7 to do your ridiculous amounts of work that you’re putting something in your stomach. Maybe during that break I told you to take you could bake some yummy cookies or brownies for all your friends! Then you get to eat, and since you did something nice for your friends, you can make them pay you back by having them complete your assignments. Win/win.
So there you have it, my tips for surviving the end of the semester. You can trust me. I’ve made it to my junior year of college with this system. It’s fool-proof.
