H. Ken DeDominicis started this week in his new position as Catholic University’s top fundraiser, tasked with adding to the school’s endowment.

DeDominicis, the new Vice President for Institutional Advancement, was appointed by the University in early December. His position in Institutional Advancement includes management of University Development and Alumni Relations.

As the new Vice President, DeDominicis plans to adjust the “advancement operational needs to support the Strategic Plan of the University,” he said in a December statement.

The endowment was $201.9 million, for the period that ended in March 31, 2010 after increasing nearly $134.1 million since June 1994, marking a gain of 35.1 percent.

The ten-year plan, recently revealed by President John Garvey, includes major reconstruction of the campus.

DeDominicis received a B.A. in English at DeSalle University and a master’s of public administration from North Carolina State University.

DeDominicis has 26 years of experience fundraising at other universities, including University of St. Thomas in Houston, North Carolina State University, A&M University, and Cornell University– Corpus Christi. He raised more $89 million for these universities.

“Ken DeDominicis has a proven track record of building highly effective advancement operations, and his accomplishments in the fundraising area speak for themselves. We wanted a new vice president for advancement who would not only embrace our Catholic mission but would also take us to the level of philanthropic support we need for our future development. I am confident we have found that person in Ken DeDominicis,” Garvey said in a statement.
