KTG: Joys of Sisterhood

This semester having spent my time balancing a full freshman schedule as well as immersing myself in student life on campus the best way I can. I have involved my self with Program Board as the committee chair for the freshman class and as well as with The Tower. My involvement with those two organizations still left holes in my schedule for service opportunities as well as a social outlet. Pledging Kappa Tau Gamma (KTG) filled that void. I realized that I can handle being part of KTG, in addition to The Tower, Program Board and a full academic schedule along with the demands with each of these three organizations. Lack of Student Involvement Evident from Survey

At most universities, school spirit and student involvement go hand in hand. Here at CUA, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Catholic University has countless outlets for student involvement, yet it seems difficult to get information on the different organizations available. Sometimes it feels like every student lives in their own little makeshift bubbles and do not venture out to see everything going on around campus. With so many different organizations relating to all aspects of student life, such as religion, service and social life, all the bases are covered. CUA Sagging Spirit

Four weeks into the semester and where’s that Cardinal spirit? It seems like the only time someone is boasting proudly about the cardinal they are actually referring to the nest. Supposedly just wearing Catholic merchandise seems like sufficient spirit around here. Maybe the reason why people don’t know of CUA is because everyone is just off doing their own thing. Spirit here is just gloating about that Monday night thrasher where you got written up. As a freshmen from South Florida – a college football crazed state, I was kind of disappointed by the turn out for last week’s football game against Franklin & Marshall.
